My second half and Jeremy's first full marathon is quickly approaching. Nov. 6th is the big day! The forecast has been back and forth between cold and warm, rain and sun. As of today it is supposed to be partly cloudy with a high of 61, low of 42. What to wear, what to wear???
While I have been training for a few months now and I know I'm in better shape than I was for last year's half I have to wonder, will i break three hours? Last year, a trip to the port a potties cost me my 2:59.59, I ended up with a 3:00.42 :( so close!
I have been going back and forth with my goals for this half and I think I finally have them done.
A Goal: under 2:55
B Goal: under 3:00
C Goal: to finish
I'm trying not to focus so much on my time goals. Yes, i desperately want to break 3 hours, but I know eventually I will. If I'm going to do 50 half marathons in all 50 states, then I have plenty of time to break it and to get faster. i don't want to hurt myself in the process. after last year's half i wasn't able to run for 2 months because of a sore hip. I don't want that to happen with this half too. i am finally starting to not dread running as much and want to be able to continue running in the next upcoming months. There are some 5K's I want to do and not being able to run sort of puts a damper on that.
You can do it!! Let's both get our sub 3s on Sunday! :)
